The term genocide refers to any action (usually sponsored by the state) in any country that seeks to annihilate an entire population. It is scientifically defined, by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, in this article:

Genocide is bad, as are holy wars. I support freedom of speech, and thought, and religion counts as both, but I oppose violence and I oppose apartheid.

When two countries are engaged in decades of such hostilities, it is their citizens who suffer the most. Normal human beings on both sides, who suffer greatly and receive the least amount of help, because their governments are killing them. They are the victims, and they need help; they do not want war.

What if we lived in a world where our political leaders saw such holy wars, and they denounced both sides, calling for and end to all violence? What if they were to condemn both sides, and our media focused only on the suffering of ordinary people on both sides?

Or what if we just kept having a world like we have now, where our governments send money and weapons to hostile states, because bigger and more powerful states back their enemies? What if we just maintained this hypocrisy forever??

I hate the world, and I want to change it.
